Amrex offers a 1 MHz and 3.3 MHz generator with a standard or small size soundhead. The standard size soundhead, with an approximate 2.25-inch diameter faceplate (contact diameter 1.75 inch), provides maximum coverage for stimulation therapy. The smaller size soundhead, with an approximate 1.5-inch diameter faceplate (contact diameter 1.25-inch), is ideal for treating outer extremities. During 1 MHz treatment, the Amrex soundhead will produce 0 to 20 watts average power with a 5-watt average intensity/cm² maximum energy density. During 3.3 MHz treatments, the Amrex soundhead will produce 0 to 10 watts average power with a 2.5-watt average intensity/cm² maximum energy density.

The Amrex ultrasound beam is 1 MHz or 3.3 MHz amplitude modulated at 120 Hz. This is considered a continuous pulse beam with a pulse duration of 8 milliseconds. Unlike our competitors who only provide a continuous beam output, the Amrex amplitude modulated beam is unique in that it is able to provide a peak power output 2.8 times the average power setting. (At the maximum 20-watt average power setting during 1 MHz treatment, this will translate to 56 peak power watts). This peak power is generated for only a portion of the pulse beam. This momentary burst of ultrasonic energy provides improved penetration of the tissue for more effective micro massage.
